Community

SHRM Foundation               Leadership Cumberland County

Leadership Cumberland County

Cumberland County has been fortunate in having leadership from all sectors of the County. However, it is necessary to replenish the supply of leadership; leaders who are informed, skilled and vigorous individuals capable of understanding community problems, interpreting facts related to them and influencing decisions based on these facts.

Leadership Cumberland County assures a continuous source of strong leadership by establishing a leadership program for existing and emerging leaders who will assume responsible positions in neighborhoods and communities throughout Cumberland County. The program's objectives focus on establishing a network of leaders; providing a means to ramp-up new leaders as they enter the County; identifying emerging leaders; valuing diversity as a resource county-wide; and encouraging the development of pride in Cumberland County.

Goal: Leadership Cumberland County acquaints participants with a broad understanding of public problems, the workings of State and local government, the civic challenges facing all of us and the role the community plays in solving problems.
